Scaradise - Day 3

Today is the big day. It's Emma Roberts first ever convention appearance. One day only. People flying in from all over the place to meet her. I usually don't attend conventions on Sundays. My job requires travel almost every week, so being gone for a full weekend means I basically don't see my wife at all that week, or have any time to do laundry, etc. So I usually try to finish everything by Saturday afternoon/evening, and then drive/fly home after that. But that Emma Roberts Sunday only announcement changed everything.
The parking lot wasn't scheduled to open today until 8am, but I knew that the line of cars would start forming way before that. I arrived at around 6:15am. Sadly, I was not the first car in line today. There were 3 cars ahead of me. After hanging out for a bit, an Uber dropped somebody off a few feet in front of me, and it turned out to be my buddy Bobby. So at least I had somebody to talk to until they opened the gates.
By the time they opened, quite a few people that had been dropped off were standing there ready to run. So by the time I got through the parking booth and made my way to a spot, there were five people ahead of me in the VIP line. My streak is over lol. Luckily I had some friends inside that were saving me a spot in line for Ms. Roberts. They came through clutch, and I really appreciate those guys. You know who you are. I normally wouldn't do that, but with my slightly limited mobility this weekend I didn't want to risk having 50 people overtake me while we made the somewhat long walk to get in her line. She arrived nice and early at 9:50am or so. Within a couple minutes of her arrival she started meeting people. I was fifth in line to meet her, so it didn't take long at all for me to reach her. For whatever reason I was really nervous about meeting her. I don't really get nervous about meeting celebs any more, but today was an exception.
Well, I had nothing to be nervous about. She is an absolute sweetheart. And for it being her first convention, she is a total pro. Super friendly, efficient, and taking great care to sign everything exactly how you want. They had a no quote policy, but she was still happy to give me a bit extra on my metal Ghostface poster. That is shaping up to be one of my favorite items in my entire collection. We thought she wasn't going to offer selfies, but she did for $125 per. I considered doing it, but since I have a duo photo op with her and Rory later, I decided to save the money. I got five items signed. I should have gotten a Ghostface masked signed as well, but I spent way too much already this weekend. Once she has done her signings with Mintych/Dark Parlor/etc, signed masks should be easy to find, so I'll just pick one up later.

My fifth item is shown below. It has spoilers for "Scream 7" on it, so I've got it hidden. DO NOT EXPAND THIS SECTION IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN "SCREAM 7".
SPOILER FOR SCREAM 7

I forgot to mention in the Day 2 recap that I still needed Lukas Gage. He wasn't at his table when I checked early in the day, and by the time he was at his table later in the day I had exactly $12 left in my wallet lol. So I grabbed some cash from an ATM at Wawa this morning so I could get him today.
Lukas is an awesome dude. I overheard him talking to the person in front of me about how "Weapons" and "Barbarian" are among his favorite films of the 2020s, so when I got to him I asked if he was looking forward to Zach Cregger's "Resident Evil" film. So we ended up talking about Cregger's career for a bit. Lukas said what an honor it was to be directed by Cregger for the first few days of shooting "Companion". I had no idea that Cregger had produced the film, let alone directed some of it.
After that I told him I was bummed that he had canceled his previously announced Scaradise appearance, but was glad to see him this weekend. He said I'll be happy, as he canceled that appearance to film another horror film. I can't wait to see it!
After he signed my poster, he commented how much he liked my white pen. He said the white pen he had at his table sucked. As he was my last autograph of not just the day, but the whole weekend, I offered to give it to him. At first he didn't want to take it, but his handler jumped in and said they would gladly accept it, lol. I guess she was tired of dealing with that crappy pen.
Lukas was very appreciative, and grabbed an 8x10 off the table and inscribed it to me. He really is great, and I hope he has a wonderful career.

At this point I was done with autographs. My Emma/Rory photo op wasn't for a while, so I had some time to kill. I looked at the photo op schedule, and noticed that the Matthew/Skeet op was coming up in like 30 minutes. For some stupid reason, I've never gotten an op with those two, even though they are partially responsible for me being the horror fan I am today. So I made a spur of the moment decision to buy that op and head over to the photo op area. I ended up being first in line for their op. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Though I don't like how Matthew Lillard makes me look short lol.

All that left was my photo op with Emma and Rory. Before the con I had asked on Facebook if I should do the Emma/Rory op or the Emma/Hayden op. Emma/Rory won in a route, so that is what I went with. I was second in line for their duo op. While in line I finally got to meet Kim, Deej and Cassie's mom. As I told her, I was just as excited to meet her as I was to meet some of the celebrities. Maybe not Emma Roberts excited, but definitely at least Shannon Elizabeth excited! When I got up to them, they were standing really close together, so I couldn't really fit in between them. So I ask if they minded if I jumped in the middle. Emma said "Of course, it's your photo!". So I squeezed in between them. I'm really happy with how this turned out as well.

And with that, I was done! I dropped everything off in the car, and went back in to do one final lap to say goodbye to everybody that I could find. What a phenomenal weekend this was. I got to see so many friends and acquaintances this weekend. Deej, Cassie, Kim, Mike (and his fam), and the rest of the people that run this amazing convention. Rachael, Derrell, Nay, Sean, Travis, Brittney, Carissa, Francesca, and all of the other awesome handlers. Amy, Autumn, Brittney, Kayla, Meredith, and the dozens of phenomenal volunteers. And then all of the other attendees/consignors/vendors (probably in the hundreds) that I talked to this weekend. Bobby, Eric, Melissa, Brian, Nate, Dr. J, Brandon, Nicole, Dave, Justin, Bryan, Brandon, Steve, Anthony, Abbe, Dez, Jamie, Ana, Crystal, Keith, Jesse, Jefferey, AJ, and countless others that make these cons so much fun to attend. If I didn't name you it isn't because I don't like you... well, maybe it is. But it's probably just because there are too many awesome people at Scaradise to name them all lol. That's a wrap! Now for today's meager stats: The Stats:
CELEBS MET: 5
PRO PHOTOS: 2
ITEMS SIGNED: 7
TOTAL AUTOGRAPHS: 7
I may or may not do a quick Scaradise wrap up post. If somebody asks for it, I'll do it.
