Spooky Empire - Day 3

I almost never go to conventions on Sunday. I usually finish getting what I need done at some point on Saturday, and head home Saturday night.
But I just missed the Cassandra Peterson photo op on Saturday. So I decided to get it done today.
I started the day with the awesome Eggs Benedict at the B-Line Diner. I had the pleasure of eating breakfast with Jeff East and Michael St. Michaels. It was a great way to start the day.
I got in line WAY too early today. I don’t know why, but I have this unrelenting compulsion to get in line crazy early for every con I do, whether it’s truly necessary or not. Today I got in line at 7 something… and the next VIP didn’t show up until after 9.
In addition to my photo op, I decided to get a few more things signed. I always bring way too many items and bring home a lot of stuff unsigned. But there were a handful of things nagging at me, so I brought them again today.
Just like Friday, I started with David Howard Thornton. For the first time ever, I got one of my photo op photos signed. But it’s an 11x14 enlargement and I replaced the background. I think it turned out pretty great. I do regret not getting it personalized, though.
After that I met Steven LaMorte & Amy Schumacher again. Yesterday I wasn't sure if I was going to get my "The Mean One" poster signed, but I decided to go for it. You can see that poster above.
I saw Tom Savini walking to his table, so I went there next. A lot of people complain about having a bad experience meeting Tom, but I've never had that issue. This is the fourth time I've met the effects legend, and I've had a pleasant experience every time.

At this point I wanted to get two more people, but neither were at their table. Roger Jackson had an earlier ETA than Chris Jericho, so I hoped in his line and waited. He arrived at 11:00AM, just as GA was entering the autograph area.
I jumped in line for Chris Jericho and hung out with Eric and Melissa while we waited for him to arrive. I had a 12:00PM photo op with Cassandra Peterson coming up, so I was cutting it close. I was just beginning to make preparations to have Eric get my poster signed for me when Chris showed up. Chris commented on how many different "Terrifier 3" posters there are, and said he had never seen mine. I wanted to get a selfie with Chris, but I just can't bring myself to drop $100 for a selfie. If he had a combo where the selfie added something like $60 to the autograph price, I'd have done it.

After meeting Chris, I went straight to the photo op area, and ended up second in line for Cassandra's op. This lady is so damn iconic. I don't know I’m so glad I stuck around an extra day to get the photo. Cassandra is an absolute icon, and I don’t know why I waited this long to grab a photo with her.

I had one final stop to make before heading out. I had stopped by Joe Lam’s table in the vendor hall on Saturday, and had promised to come back. Joe is the director of an independent horror film called “The Fetus”. It stars one of our great modern scream queens Lauren Lavera, as well as the iconic Bill Moseley. I just watched the movie a couple weeks ago, and really enjoyed it. I did a video review of the movie for Joe, which was pretty nerve-wracking lol.
Evan Towell, who plays the younger version of Bill Moseley’s character, was also at the table with Joe. Evan and Joe are awesome guys, and I am looking forward to what they do next. I got my "The Fetus" poster signed, and bought a pack of condoms signed by Joe.

I know I said that was my final stop, but now I had to run over and get Bill Moseley to sign the poster. So I did that, and thus concluded my Spooky weekend.
What a phenomenal weekend this was. Lots of great celebs, and even more great attendees and volunteers/staff. I always have a good time at Spooky, but especially when it’s at the Hyatt. It's the best convention spot in the country.
I make new friends every day at these cons, and I love it!
